Sriram shared that he was just 10 years old when he got influenced by music and decide to learn violin. His grandmother named R Komalavalli showed him the Carnatic violin and also taught him the basics of the music. Afterward, he went to his uncle named Vidwan Kalaimaamani Nagai Muralidharan, who is awarded Kalaimamani by Tamil Nadu for his vocal and music. Nagai learned further lessons of Carnatic violin from his uncle.
